What genre are you most comfortable writing?
Definitely romance. It would be a tie between contemporary and historical. I’ve written one suspense novel. I have to be in a really dark place to write about killers and nasty characters, and much prefer the sparkly pink world in my head where the romances blossom.
What made you want to be a writer?
A mixture of wanting to express my thoughts through written word and entertaining others through my stories.
What is your greatest strength as a writer?
I’d say it’s probably character development. I want my characters to seem so real, a reader finishes a book feeling like they’ve made a new friend.
Have you ever had writer’s block? If so, what do you do about it?
Absolutely. Keep writing. Depending on how bad it is, I might write something ridiculous that I know will never see the light of day. I might work on writing some blogs. I might skip ahead and write a chapter further into the book than where I’m working now. The key to overcoming writer’s block is to keep writing. You might have to delete everything you write and start over, but eventually you’ll get past the block and back on track.
Can you share a little of your current work with us?
My current release is The Christmas Cowboy. It’s the story of Tate Morgan, a saddle bronc rider, and Kenzie Beckett, a corporate trainer for a direct sales company. At first glance, the only thing the two of them seem to have in common is that they both travel frequently. They meet in an airport and the attraction between them is immediate, although Kenzie has no intention of getting involved with a rodeo cowboy.
"10% of the net proceeds from all my book sales December 1-24 will be donated to the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund®"
Flying from city to city in her job as a busy corporate trainer for a successful direct sales company, Kenzie Beckett doesn’t have time for a man. And most certainly not for the handsome cowboy she keeps running into at the airport. Burned twice, she doesn’t trust anyone wearing boots and Wranglers, especially someone as charming and handsome as Tate Morgan.
Among the top saddle bronc riders in the rodeo circuit, easy-going Tate Morgan can handle the toughest horse out there, but trying to deal with the beautiful Kenzie Beckett is a completely different story.
As the holiday season approaches, this Christmas Cowboy is going to need to pull out all the stops if he wants a chance at winning her heart.
